This is one hell of a tune. I could hear Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye singing this. Instead, it’s Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak! Two artists who have very good solo careers already, but have now teamed up to produce soemthing which to my ears is magical, real and authentic. There aren’t messing around, this is the real thing. And they have been working on it for years but no-one knew.
It’s the first single from their album An Evening with Silk Sonic which also features Bootsy Collins, who is also responisble for the name Silk Sonic.
In this interview, they explain how it all came about and the amazing fact that Anderson laid down the drums for this track in one take!
