New Music/ James Blake ‘Say What You Will’

The first time I heard James Blake was over ten years ago when he released the amazing cover of the Feist song ‘Limit to Your Love’ which was just superb. Since then he has released his self titled debut album in 2011, Overgrown (2013),
The Colour in Anything (2016), and Assume Form (2019) as well as several EP’s. With each album, he has grown as a singer, producer, musician and songwriter.

This week he announced a new album, Friends That Break Your Heart which is due out in September. The first taste of the album also arrived this week in the shape of the brilliant Say What You Will, alongside a video that stars Finneas (Billie Eilish’s brother, but also a songwriter, producer and artist in his own right).

Blake says the song is about ‘finding peace with who you are and where you’re at regardless of how well other people seem to be doing, Comparison really is the thief of joy.”

I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us on his new album on September 10th.
